The Zalt brand is very popular among spin anglers who target pike, and there are several clear reasons why these lures work so well specifically for pike:
1. Designed specifically for pike
Zalt is a small Swedish company that, from the very beginning, has focused on developing lures for large pike.
2. Unique action in the water
Zalt lures have a distinctive wobbling action that imitates natural prey and provokes predatory fish to strike. This action is well balanced to attract the attention of big pike from a distance.
3. Versatile retrieval techniques
Zalt lures perform well with different fishing techniques:
classic steady retrieve
jerk/twitch retrieve with sharp pulls
trolling (pulling from a boat)
Each of these techniques can be effective for pike depending on the conditions.
4. High-quality details and construction
Zalt lures often feature:
high-quality hooks (VMC)
internal weight systems for stable performance
a body resistant to impacts and aggressive strikes, making them durable even when fighting large pike
5. Proven track record
The brand has proven its effectiveness with many large catches (including record pike in Sweden and other countries), which further strengthens its reputation among anglers.
